Our earlier story on that Perl code used to decrypt DVD’s has been beaten by a C program only 442 bytes large. It’s so small, claims the creator, that it can be written out on a cocktail napkin.
I wonder how the MPIAA feels about this. Shittin’ their pants, maybe? DVD has come a long way already, so dropping support (ala laserdisc) isn’t an option here. Hopefully, they’ll just suck it up and back off, but how likely is that?
