Alive and kicking.
Green Party Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader may have disappeared from the evening news now that they’re done using him as a bad excuse for Al Gore’s miserably small margin of victory, but that doesn’t mean that he’s sitting around eatin’ ho-ho’s. He has been writing and speaking around the country. On April 19th, the day before the massive protests in Quebec City he made an appearance at American University. Thanks to the C-SPAN archives, you can watch Ralph talk about democracy and globalization. He’s also started a campaign against a specific egregious case of corporate welfare, $1.1 billion in public subsidies from the State and City of New York for the New York Stock Exchange. If anyone needs a billion dollar handout of our money, it’s the New York Stock Exchange.
