If it’s not combat-monkeys being used by street gangs in France, or drunken-monkeys getting their jollies on some exotic island, it’s a monkey controlling a computer cursor with its mind.
Not a revolutionary experiment, but one that’s in its refinement stages, researchers at Brown University have implanted a chip into a monkey’s brain, allowing it to move a cursor on a computer screen. Proper movement of the cursor earned the lab monkeys orange juice as a reward for a job well done.
What I’m most interested in here is not whether or not implanted chips can make monkeys control things mentally, but rather what would happen if those drunken monkeys from FeelTheBANG’s earlier report were selected for this experiment. Drunken cyber-stalkers? Pr0n addicts? mendax.org staff members?
