Creating robotic dogs was only the first step. Now, Sony has created a bipedal robot with the ability to have simple conversations, sing, and recognize up to 10 users. The small robot, with an estimated price tag as high as that of a “luxury car”, albeit capable of walking on uneven surfaces and getting up safely from a tumble, is still pretty frikken useless.
What I want to know is why Sony is marketing these things when they don’t serve any real purpose. To me, it sounds like the SDR-4X is nothing more than a really expensive toy, which makes me wonder: should I kick the crap out of anyone I see who has one, or should I just shoot them?
Updated: Granted, the videos look cool, but the thing remains non-functional.
