New features, and forum phase-out.
As mendax.org continues to grow thanks to the number of hits we’ve been getting lately, we intend on adding additional features to the mix. As you forum-goers may know, the mendax.org fora will be phased out shortly, since most of the traffic it gets is ArsClan-related. Since the aforementoned group will be getting a snazzy new web page with local fora, there will be little immediate need for continued forum hosting through mendax.org.
Replacing the local fora will be user registrations on the main site, allowing us to expand front-page capabilities to allow news commentary, and additional features as we see the need to implement them. Going this route will allow us to keep an integrated userbase, without having to rely on redundant user registrations for other modules, like the phpBB software we’ve been using to power the forums.
These changes won’t hit you all at once, however. Expect the forum to remain active for a little while longer, and expect user registrations/logins to be implemented in a week’s time at the earliest. Just ignore whatever flakiness you encounter in the meantime.
