Hyperlink victory

by WyldKard on August 26, 2002

Speaking of stupid lawsuits, some time ago we told you about the lawsuit filed by BT Group against Prodigy Communications, stating that BT held a patent on hyperlinks since 1976. Fortunately, common sense prevailed and the lawsuit was dismissed.

Had BT won the suit, not only would Prodigy have required to pay, but the case would have established a dangerous precedent for more sue-happiness by BT Group. Scratch up another happy ending.
