Speaking dinosaur found.

As a kid, I was an ardent follower of all things Dinosaur, and at one point, I seriously considered palaeontology as a profession. Nowadays, though, I only manage to catch the big news pertaining to our predecessors on earth, like news that Brontosaurus was renamed.

Fortunately, I came across dinosaur news that doesn’t shatter my childhood nomenclature. Rather, it brings word of a find that I, as a child, never expected, but always hoped for - a mummified dinosaur.

The find in Montana involves a “duckbill” dinosaur, which was mummified by wet river sand 77 million years ago. The mummification process, highly unlikely and incredibly rare, gives us a fossil showing dinosaur muscle, skin, and even stomach contents.

Given modern procedures, this find will allow breakthroughs in the understanding of dinosaurs, especially in regards to movement, stature, and diet. This information may very well change our understanding of dinosaurs, such that a more accurate depiction of these amazing creatures can be taught to future generations.
