Sex doll family.

Some years ago, a few entrepreneurs decided a realistic sex doll, complete with poseable limbs and multiple “access points” would make a killing on the market. Not too long after, Realdoll was popular enough that it warranted a segment on the Howard Stern Show.

Celebrities aside, the modern-day Realdoll comes in a variety of shapes, includes male and shemale models, and is pretty customizeable considering the expenses involved.

However, though the Realdoll line is constantly being expanded with newer models and life-like options (gyrating hips, even), some people wanted to take things to another level entirely.

Enter PhotogenicDoll, or as some might prefer to call it, “the Realdoll for pedaphiles.” I”m not sure if it’s fair to mention that this innovation comes out of Japan, but I will anyway, because the Japanese are capable of consistently shocking people with their perverted hentai, tentacle porn, et al.

Rather than get into a discussion over why this type of material seems to evolve and prosper in Japan instead of elsewhere, I will instead comment on the potential legal ramifications I forsee in the future here in the States. For one, it reminds me of the fellow who was arrested for writing about child molestation in his diary, despite the fact that he didn’t actually molest any children. Nonetheless, since he was on parole at the time, his filthy thoughts bought him additional jail time. See where I’m going with this?

It doesn’t take a genious to see beyond the “photogenic” purposes advertised for this doll. Plain and simple, there’s a reason the doll has holes to penetrate, but despite the initial reaction most people may have, there’s no legal standing for making it illegal to have sex with a doll. In the end, it’s still not a living, breathing thing, made of steel and silicon. In essence, it’s simply an imaginitive aid, though whether an individual masturbates with his hand or with a sex toy, the fact that they aren’t having sex with a real child should be enough to let us sleep at night. After all, it’s not thoughts we should be punishing, it’s actions. At least, that’s the way I hope we keep it.
