In a curious genetic mutation, a German baby in Berlin was born with abnormal strength, allowing the toddler to pick up weights weighing in at a whole 6.6lbs. That may be child’s play for now, but the genetic mutation will keep the boy abnormally strong throughout his life, thanks to a mutation that prevents a particular protein from being produced, which limits muscle growth.
Suggestions have already been made that studying this abnormality may aid research into preventing muscle-degenerative diseases, but whether the protein not being produced is necessary for other functions was not mentioned. I imagine that the protein is necessary for something useful, else why limit muscle growth? I mean, is God trying to keep us down or something?
