While it’s occurred to me in the past, I’ve never stated it outright: coming up with witty news titles is tough. Thus such fantabulous titles like the above, which is sadly witty, and by sadly, I mean “not quite”.
Suffice to say, the watching I mention refers to the tabs one can keep on Bleeding Hollow, or Spirestone, or a lame server you happen to play World of Warcraft (WoW) on. I say lame because if you don’t play on Bleeding Hollow or Spirestone, then you’re clearly not associated with the Shadow Cartel, which implies that you are very uncool, or just foolish to stand in the Cartel’s way. Or maybe, you simply don’t like fun, helpful, and social guilds, and prefer gi-normous monstrosities based more around numbers than quality – I don’t really know, I’m just guessing.
The obscured point here is that some of us in the Cartel play on OS X, rather than Windows, which was only slightly sad a few days ago, until it was annnounced that OS X will run on consumer-end x86 Intel computers next year, which almost makes me a little sad since I just purchased a new 17″ G4 Powerbook. What makes me very happy, however, is that WoW runs better under OS X than it does in Windows (and by better, I refer to the lack of crashing and file corruption, rather than frames-per-second). What also makes me happy is that I can now check on Bleeding Hollow’s status via OS X’s Dashboard, which is much simpler than loading my browser every time I want to scope out if the server’s down.
With new widgets available, Dashboard is proving to be an awesome addition to OS X, and combined with the Apple-M keystroike (thanks Aelel!) to window WoW for some multi-application love during those long griffon rides, getting WoW-data on-the-fly is great.
If I had the time, I’d write up a little widget for Dashboard myself to display thotbott info. or character profile information. Or maybe, I’ll make the suggestion on a web site, in the hopes that one of you will do it.’, ‘WyldKard’, 682, ‘cartel’);
INSERT INTO news VALUES (‘Night of Thieves’, ’2005-06-13 15:29:16′, ‘While we have a smaggle of Cartel regulars these days, there are a number of guild members who are not on every night, or even most every night, and for these folks, and for purposes of organization and efficiency, we”ve organized an official “Guild Night”, when guild members can get together to discuss pertinent topics and help one another with gear/equipment and quests.\r\n
\r\nThe decision was made to have guild night fall on Wednesdays, at 07:00 PM Pacific time. For those who don”t know what this means on the east coast, the time delay is a whole three hours, so be online at 10:00 PM Eastern time.\r\n
\r\nBefore you go, hit the aforelinked thread for the agenda, and feel free to make comments on what else you might like to discuss. Right now, we don”t have a smaggle of topics yet, which means our topic-base remains low, which should result in a rather quick meeting in Stormwind, followed by questing and stuff-giving.\r\n
\r\nFor those who haven”t been paying attention to who plays who in the game, Leonhardt/Tiara will be running this first meeting. Generally, if there”s an agenda, one of the Consigliere”s will run the meeting. Regardless, expect guild-related activities on Wednesdays nights. Hope to see you there.
