[...] Apparently, some sick uploading error created an unzippable copy of InsomniMax, but rest assured, Maxator’s modified version of the Insomniax user interface (UI) distribution for World of Warcraft (WoW) is now available for download. [...]
[...] In response to feedback from users, I have updated InsomniMax by adding an autorepair utility, decursive, and whispercast. The file is available for download here. I have also updated the install guide. Happy questing, Max [...]
[...] Maxator, compiler of the InsomniMax distribution, a package of numerous, helpful World of Warcraft user-interface add-ons, has updated InsomniMax 1.9.1, calling it Revision 2. [...]
[...] Despite Blizzard’s most recent and valiant effort to once again derail UI compilers such as myself, I have managed to put together a stable 1.10-compatible version of the WoW InsomniMax UI Suite. It is available for free download, and directions to configure the interface are available locally. Enjoy, and keep checking in for updates as I add more UIs that are made 1.10-compatible by their respective authors. [...]
[...] As Maxator prepared his latest UI compilation for World of Warcraft (WoW), I spent my time doing same. As some may recall, his compilation and mine are subtly different, since his is based on a recent release of Insomniax, while mine was started on the premise of escaping Insomniax. While I have yet to completely remove the last staggering ruins of an ancient Insomniax undercity, I am content with my compilation’s functionality under WoW 1.10. [...]
[...] Your favorite WoW UI compilation is back and updated with improvements and fixes to most patch 1.10 caused issues. Movablebags, Decursive, DAB keybinding issues, and all known errors have been resolved. Look for future updates, but for now enjoy 1.10.2 and happy questing!!! Click here for a link to the writeup and new version for download. [...]
[...] Insomnimax 1.10.3, a patch 1.10 compatible UI compilation is available for free download here. This version fixes problems with Titan Durability and includes CT Raid Assist. See the article for details and hap[py questing… Max [...]
[...] While my friend Maxator carries on a similar project with his aptly named InsomniMax compilation, mendax.wow has come into its own as a unique compilation no longer based on its former Insomniax roots. With the last such files removed, mendax.wow achieves a healthy version increase to 0.10. And yes, there is only madness is its version-numbering scheme. [...]
[...] Well, after a couple weeks of ironing out patch 1.10 wrinkles, the final version of Insomnimax 1.10 is now available for download here. Since all UIs now seem to be running fine with all intended functionality and there are no open issues, this should be the last new version for a while. Included in 1.10.4, are the most recent version of Decursive, a fixed version of Titan Durability and Honor Plus, and lastly new to InsomniMax is Mobileframes, a nifty plugin that allows all frames to be moved. As such, I have removed Movablebags as it was causing a conflict. Happy questing to all, Max [...]
[...] In the heels of the new InsomniMax version comes a small update to mendax.wow, raising the UI compilation to v0.11. The fixes are minor, and include MoveableFrames and an newer version of Decursive and Auctioneer, the latter appearing to be sans the performance issues the Auction House was under lately. Whether the Auctioneer update caused things to get better, or if it was a server issue all along is unknown. Suffice to say, the new version of mendax.wow is better working than the last. [...]
[...] A new version of the WoW UI Suite InsomniMax is available for free download here. The new version 1.10.5 incorporates three minor changes, including the latest Discord Action Bars, TT Spell Timer, and a fix to a problem with countdown timers on the spell bars. [...] A new version of the the InsomniMax WoW UI Suite is now available for download here. This should be the last new version before the 1.11 patch. The new version includes a new highly configurable player frame UI: PERL; a nifty new map program: YAtlas; and a new Spell/Attack stat UI: TheoryCraft. Statusbars and PlayerFramePlus have been removed as they were replaced by PERL. Lastly, an updated Atlas has been included. Happy questing to all, Max By Maxator, 9. June 2006, 17:21 o’clock [...]
[...] Exciting news for the near future: The creators of the popular InsomniMax and Mendax WoW UI suites have agreed to combine forces following the release of the 1.11 patch. Starting with the beta release on the day of 1.11 and following, the two suites will become one to be named… well wait and see. Check back on the day of the patch as WyldKard and Max will be working hard to bring everyone a usable UI suite on the evening of the 1.11 release day. Happy questing to all. By Maxator, 12. [...] The first patch 1.11 compatible version of the popular InsomniMax WoW UI Suite is available for free download here. This is a stable, surprisingly complete version with only one outstanding issue involving Discord Action Bars not interfacing with the new keyrings. As soon as the DAB author fixes their addon, I will upload an updated version ASAP, so check back within the next fewdays. Enjoy and Happy Questing to all, Max By Maxator, 20. Great compilation, and Kudo’s for releasing in time for patch 1.11.
I am a priest healer in game.
When i party heal it announces to the party text.
I find this distracting, and a bit showy offy for my taste. Please advise how to disable this function. I have tried to find it for hours without luck.
Also i very much like the click to heal buttons next to player icons in party. Does this have the same functionality in Raid and if so how do i turn it on.
Thanks!
Ludi
I managed to answer my own question.
The heal announce to party/raid is controled by “groupheal”.
I downloaded the latest version of groupheal / raidheal.
I am very happy. Raid and AV healing is a breeze now!
I am finding a bug where if i hand a quest in and then try to talk to the npc after, the game kicks me.
Same issue seems to occur with vendors too.
Cheers,
Ludi
Thanks for your question and support Ludi!!! After your post I have included the most up-to-date Groupheal in the latest version. Feel free to post any issues or suggestions in the future so I can address them.
Happy questing,
Max
Thanks for the reply.
I use the “dab” toolbars with my priest, however it is kinda convoluted and tricky to setup.
My wife plays a rogue and I have guildies seeking UI advice. I have pointed them in the direction of this page and advised against installing DAB.
It might be worth considering an easier alternative to DAB, as it is too darn hard for most of us.
Also I find “outfitter” a must have mod for anyone with multiple outfits.
It auto equips based on location and action, ie:
I have a dining setup whereby whenever i drink water, my mana regen gear auto equips, when i mount my speed gear equips, undead gear, etc. It also auto equips things like argent dawn based on location.
Cheers,
Ludi
My mendax.wow compilation also utilizes DAB, and though I’ve considered replacing it with something easier to set up, I’ve held off because of certain key features DAB has that other button layout programs don’t.
While DAB is bulky because of all the advanced features it has that most people will never use (like its even-based scripting), DAB also has an out-of-range button color and a cooldown count built in. I haven’t seen many similar programs with these features that also are resizeable and easy to set up.
If anyone has any suggestions, however, I’m sure Maxator would similarly be interested in knowing about them.
[...] Now 07/11/2006 minipatch compliant!!! Download here. Besides the fix, not much different other than adding Guild Event Manager and updating some other mods to the latest version. Happy Questing, Max By Maxator, 11. July 2006, 21:21 o’clock [...]
Thankyou!
On patch day,I downloaded 6 different healing mods, 5 permutations of cosmos and titanpanel all of these were buggy and crappola.
I literally checked your site every hour on the hour in the hope that my dreams would be answered.
Lo and behold this morning my dreams have come to fruition!
I know officially worship at the shrine of Max.
Everything appears to work.
I am having some issues with groupheal, when i try to self heal - click to sheild/renew etc on my nameplate it does not always respond.
It still seems to work for party and raid however.
I will keep an eye on updates for groupheal and let you know when it is updated.
Again, incase i am not clear here, THANKYOU!
Cheers and Beers,

One other issue i noticed in AV this afternoon - the battleground icon no longer appears on the minimap.
Might be just me…

I checked out this compilation about a week ago, and noticed that part of the increase in its size is because it includes all the Blizzard folders that default during install. These do not need to be redistributed, and will cut down on the size of this mod compilation if left out.

If I am to understand the inclusion of the WhisperCast mod correctly, it is primarily to receive buffs from Paladins, and the few other classes with useful timed buffs. For out-of-combat queuing and casting, this mod continues to function properly, but mid-combat, it does not work thanks to Blizzard restricting functionality in WoW’s API. I encountered this change when I intended to use WhisperCast to aid in a multiboxing experiment.
