For many, especially the retired populace, golf is a way to get out in the fresh air, take in some sunshine, and get some exercise. Those 20 steps to the golf cart and back can be tough. Birds sing, the wind blows musically through the trees, the smell of fresh cut grass in air… awww… tranquility!
But no one tells you about the hidden dangers of golf! That more sinister side that could end in your death. That’s right!!! YOUR DEATH!!! You think I’m exaggerating!?! WELL TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!!!!!! —> this
The article states that a man in Rancho Palos Verde, California died as the result of a runaway golf cart. I TOLD you those things are dangerous! But did you believe me? NO!!! NOW LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENED!!!
Apparently, the 50-year-old man (notice I said 50! This is not some 85-year-old arthritic man with five hearing aids attached to a car battery!) lost control of his golf cart after deciding to go off the well manicured path and travel down a steep hill. It is unclear what happened next, but the man either jumped or was thrown from the speeding cart. The man was then crushed to death when the cart crashed into the tree the man was against.
The pastoral quiet of the golf course has forever been shattered. It’s just one more place in our beloved country that has been tainted by the stentch of violence. Our innocence has been stripped from us, and we can never regain that. The next time you’re on the golf course, no longer will you simply meander your way through fields of green without a care in the world, for there will always be that tickling sensation at the back of your neck. A wariness you can’t shake. At some point, you’ll succumb to it, and hesitantly glance over your shoulder just to see if perhaps there is a runaway golf cart heading your way. And you’ll remember with a deep and profound sadness how you no longer feel safe.
