I’m going to ghost ride my DeLorean.

I finally received the head unit I ordered for my DeLorean. It’s a fancy little JVC model that lets me read USB devices, so I don’t need to deal with retarded compact discs. This is ironic, because my DeLorean is from the ’80s, when USB wasn’t even invented yet. Somewhere, there’s a hardcore DeLorean fan screaming at the very idea of me abandoning even CD technology.

But I don’t care, because I’m going to ghost ride my motherfuckin’ whip. The “whip” is my car, and ghost ridin’ is a Hyphy trend from the Bay Area. Fuck, until recently, I didn’t know that “Hyphy” was anything but an absurd word in a rap song. Apparently, the San Francisco Bay area is finally getting recognition for it’s contributions to pop culture, or hip-hop culture, or whatever else you want to call it, even if those contributions are retarded. Nonetheless, everyone is doing it, and like whistle tips prove that anything associated with Bay area culture has no place in the normal world. At least in this case, abnormal is comedy awesome.

The trend has convinced me that gullwing doors enable ghost ridin’, so who am I to stand in the way of Hyphy progress? As they say, “When in Rome…”

I digress here, because the whole purpose of this post was not to regale you with tales of gullwing ghosting, but rather to explain to you the pain I went through to obtain Ghost Ride It by Mistah F.A.B, who is, apparently, one of the leading San Francisco Bay area hip-hop artists. And yes, his beats are kickin’.

I keep hearing the aforementioned song on 94.9 FM, which is to say, not on any of my Sirius hip-hop stations, which I can only explain by noting that the single is not yet for sale via iTunes, or any other music sales outlet. The song, which incorporates clips from other songs, such as the Ghostbusters theme, is copyright offending, and therefore not allowed for sale. Or perhaps, it’s a simple matter of Mistah F.A.B’s record label getting off their lazy ass and selling the frikken song.

In any case, in lieu of recording the song off the radio, or using iTube rippery or imeem hax0ring, a Google search finds a downloadable copy.
