Amazon’s service apparently run by amazons.
I don’t use Amazon.com that often, in part because the prices aren’t that great compared to other online outlets for the things I actually shop for. Every once in awhile, however, I’ll put an order in for a book, or do some last-minute Christmas shopping there because I was too lazy busy to do my shopping at a brick ‘n mortar store. This holiday season was one such case.
Unfortunately, I received an e-mail the other day telling me that Amazon hadn’t received payment in four days. Nevermind that Amazon had my telephone number, or that they could have e-mail me sooner to inform me of any problem. Rather, they told me that they canceled my order and that if I wanted the items I ordered, I’d have to head back to their site, find the items, and add them all back to my cart. Of course, now I’d have to pay higher shipping costs to get the items before Christmas, and one of the items that was “on sale” is now more expensive.
The e-mail Amazon sent doesn’t even have a reply-to address. And, I can’t bring up my previous orders on their web site because they deleted the whole order from their system. Non-existent customer service for a problem that could have easily been rectified had I been contacted.
Today, I will go to Best Buy and get what I need. Amazon.com, you are a jackass, and you just lost yourself a customer.
