Not a huge update this time around, other than adding DoubleWide, which is an addon that effectively doubles the size of the quest frame by moving the quest text to a new window, and using the real-estate of the old frame to show all quests available. We’ve also made available a new compilation for download, [...]

It’s been a number of levels since I began dual-boxing, and though my class make-up isn’t necessarily ideal, it’s actually proven to be pretty effective. Indeed, a Hunter/Shaman combination may seem strange at first, but it gives me the strength of the former’s DPS with the healing satisfaction of a Restoration Shammy. More specifically, my [...]

It doesn’t take a casual observer to realize that World of Warcraft (WoW) is not a casual game. The emphasis, quite clearly, is on end-game events, be they raiding progression of PvP. This isn’t purely the fault of the developers, however, because players will simply end up at the level cap eventually, and therefore the [...]

After much time believing that the Guitar Hero franchise was not for him, my pal Maxator recently folded and picked up Guitar Hero III. This event was one in a handful of links that lead him to write about his love of Rock Band, which is a logical step in the progression of playing rhythm-matching [...]

In no unclear terms, last World of Warcraft (WoW) patch buffed the Hunter class thanks to the significant decrease in dead zone, allowing Hunters to fire their ranged weapons at a much closer range than they could before. Other Hunter abilities were buffed as well, such as the dispel effect added to Arcane Shot, and [...]

After Apple’s lawyers presumably spent many nights awake looking for looholes, they finally gave in and recognized that Apple needs to sell an unlocked version of the iPhone in France, because in Frenchland, carrier exclusivity is a no-no. Apparently, Apple’s lawyers did not find the same to be true in Germany, where Deutsche Telekom (i.e. [...]

Do not get me wrong: my iPhone has proven a better companion than any cell phone I’ve owned, but this is mainly due to third-party applications, and the fact that unlocking the phone has given me a carrier choice that enabled me to maintain, and even decrease, my previous cell phone bill. An iPhone sans [...]

Let’s step back in time for a moment if you will so indulge me. There was a time when I befriended a girl, not necessarily because we had a ton in common, but because we were working in the same place and were one of the few women under 30. Over the course [...]

I cleaned up the list of addons by separating them into two lists: those built on the Ace libraries, and those not.
Also, I replaced DragQueen with NDragIt, and EquipCompare with EQCompare. These replacements are both Ace addons.
Aside from the fact that having more mods use Ace is more efficient in terms of memory use, another [...]

I don’t particularly get all the anger over Aspyr dropping the ball on Guitar Hero III. That is to say, Aspyr may have mismanaged the game’s release, but this is no different than the majority of ports or late releases we see coming to OS X. As far as good titles go, does anyone other [...]

While clowns like the guys behind the NGage tried their hand at mobile gaming via cell phones, the idea didn’t take off, in great part because portable gaming is monopolized by Nintendo and Sony. Then there’s the fact that people don’t want to pay $20+ for titles that only work on dedicated hardware, meaning that [...]

I intended on posting a shoutout to my Twitter status about achieving Artisan-level fishing in World of Warcraft (WoW) for the first time, but the issue deserves some thought-puke in its own front-page post. I say this because the Artisan-level fishing quest is a reasonable pain in the ass, particularly considering the length of time [...]

Since reviving mendax.wow, I pulled the downloadable version because of an issue with cross-platform compatibility with zip files (as I compile mendax.wow on a Mac). These issues have since been fixed, so I decided, for everyone else’s convenience, to re-host the mendax.wow compilation as a single zip file (currently screaming in at around 23MB). The [...]

It’s no big surprise that the Guitar Hero franchise is positively affecting sales of the respective music artists’ songs. I know this because after jamming out with Guitar Hero III (GH3), I had the slightest desire to hop onto iTunes and buy some of the better GH3 tracks. What this is, is an opportunity for [...]

Perusing a fairly mundane post on office hijinks earlier today, I followed a much less mundane post that is both hilarious and scary at the same time. Namely, the link is for a product that mea ignoramus believes can only come out of Japan, because, well, that’s the kind of quirky shit that comes out [...]

I’m not sure why the title of his blog is not consistent with his subdomain, but pelides runs a blog I recently added to my daily WoW-circuit, and today threw up a repost about problems tanks have with their DPS posse.
The list is complete with standard complaints tanks have, or should have, with allies [...]

I’ve held off on upgrading my iPhone’s firmware for two reasons:
It’s a hassle.
It’s a hassle.
To be more accurate, I knew the procedure would be time-consuming, to the tune of at least an hour, and more importantly, I didn’t want to have to reinstall all my third-party apps and reconfigure them. For example, I’ve been using [...]
