AddOn Studio is the PvE server of WoW addon development.

So Microsft decided to promote their love of World of (WoW) by releasing AddOn Studio, based on their Visual Studio application. The tool in question makes developing WoW much easier, as developers now have a visual markup system to make such development much less tedious.

Of course, with the many new quality addons that may come to pass, we’ll also undoubtedly see a clutter of new addons by poor developers, who decide to post their creations only because they can. More sad than this, however, is the fact that Visual Studio is Windows-only, which means that the Mac-using WoW addicts out there will still have to rely on basic text editors with, at best, syntax highlighting. At least Mac users can proclaim their addon development is more hardcore, and that they don’t write code on easy mode.
